Your day begins with the promise of wildlife exploration and natural beauty as you embark on a visit to the Naliya Grassland, renowned for the presence of the magnificent Great Indian Bustard. As part of the Kutch Bustard Sanctuary, this delimited area reportedly houses three species of bustards — the endangered Great Indian Bustards, Lesser Floricans, and Houbara Bustards.
The sanctuary provides a habitat for a diverse range of wild animals, creating a unique ecosystem. Among the inhabitants are wolves, caracals, desert cats, jackals, striped hyenas, foxes, mongooses, blue bulls, chinkaras, spiny-tailed lizards, snakes, and various other species. Notably, 425 Chinkaras have been recorded in the Kutch Bustard Sanctuary and its vicinity. The sparse grassland vegetation, dominated by the bushy Ziziphus species, contributes to the sanctuary's distinctive landscapes.
